The company hopes to woo buyers by adding HDR support to almost all of its 2015 4K TV lineup and throwing in a bunch of remastered blockbusters.

One of the challenges of shifting to a new cloud storage provider is a very practical one: Uploading a lifetime’s worth of data takes  Right now,

Search queries on Microsoft’s Bing in the U.S. last month increased by 1%, a slow start to what a company manager predicted would be a big boost delivered by Windows 10. Google remained the U.S. search leader by a large margin, with a share of 63.8%—down the 0.2 percentage points that Bing gained—but with a search query total nearly identical to July. It was Yahoo and Ask.com that posted lower search query numbers in August compared to the month before.

While anti-virus firm AVG congratulates itself over a new easy-to-read privacy policy, users are up in arms over what that policy spells out. The It’s rare to see a privacy policy that so plainly points out a company’s data collection methods and motivations, but that’s the point. AVG recently

Xbox One users who are itching to try the upcoming Windows 10-inspired software overhaul can now reserve their spot. But as Microsoft notes, getting the update will require a bit of patience. Much of what you can go with Drive on your computer, you can also do on Android. Here's a guide to where all the new and important tools are.

Making Hadoop data more accessible has become a common goal in the world of enterprise software, and on Thursday a brand-new contender jumped into the ring. Billed as the first unified, Hadoop-native big data platform for visual analytics and business intelligence, Arcadia Enterprise aims to help business users analyze billions of data records, autoscaling to handle thousands of simultaneous queries in near real time. Drawing insights out of big data is a pervasive challenge for companies today, largely because business users must often rely on expert help to access and analyze the data they're interested in. The skills typically necessary to work with Hadoop were recently

No, M.2 (pronounced M-dot-two) is not a government spy organization or secret project. It’s a small-form-factor (SFF) multi-purpose connector designed to replace the small mSATA and mini-PCIe slots commonly used in laptops. As such, M.2 isn’t designed strictly for storage, (it supports USB, SATA, and PCIe), but storage is a large part of what’s driving its adoption—even on the desktop. Say what? The thing is, M.2’s PCIe connectivity has coincided nicely with the migration of SSD drives to PCIe, to sidestep the 600MBps limitation of the SATA bus. The marriage of PCIe and the SSD has resulted in uber-fast storage for your PC. PCIe SSDs simply blow their SATA brethren out of the water in terms of sequential throughput, and in the case of NVMe, queued small writes.

Corsair has long joked that it makes almost everything you need to build a PC—except for the CPU, GPU, and motherboard. Well, take one more thing off that list. Corsair just introduced its own factory liquid-cooled, overclocked, GeForce GTX 980 Ti card. Called the Hydro GFX, the new Corsair card comes “superclocked,” with clock speeds about 20 percent faster than a stock GeForce 980 Ti card. The clock speed increases from a standard 1000MHz base and 1075MHz boost to 1191MHz base and 1291MHz boost, which adds up to about to a 15-percent performance increase, according to Corsair. Thanks to the liquid cooler, however, it runs 30 percent cooler, Corsair said.

The Roomba 980 will clean floors more methodically than previous Roomba models, using sensors to navigate around furniture and clutter.

So you’ve grown tired of Apple’s walled garden of apps and the iron grip it maintains over the iOS platform. Well, the freedom of Android welcomes you with open arms, but don’t forget to bring your data along for the ride! Apple doesn’t make it particularly easy to move your data from iOS to Android—it’s more interested in moving people in the other direction. Still, with just a few tools and some patience, you can be up and running on Android without missing a beat. If you’ve been an iPhone user for a while, odds are your contacts are synced to iCloud. That makes it easy to log into iOS devices and have your address book readily available, but it also makes it easier to get it into Google’s ecosystem.

Buying a fanless home theater PC typically involves some major compromises on processing power, but a new case from HDPlex aims to be an exception. The HDPlex H5 comes with up to 16 copper heat pipes to keep the system cool without fans. Eight of those pipes are dedicated to the CPU and handle up to a 95W TDP CPU, while another optional eight pipes can cool a low-power discrete graphics card, In practical terms, that means the case should be able to handle
