Jason Snell, Dan Moren, and Serenity Caldwell will be live in San Francisco for Apple's 2014 developer's conference keynote.

HP announced a versatile lineup of PCs and PC-shaped things on Monday (Taipei time) at Computex, embracing the new normal in the world of PCs—which is, nothing’s normal. A year ago, the PC

A new but delayed chip from Intel that promises better performance and lower power consumption for tablets and laptops will take a small but important step forward this week with a planned demonstration at the Computex trade show. The chip, called Broadwell, is Intel’s next major processor but production problems have pushed back its launch and Intel hasn’t said much about it for months. That will change when Intel shows off a 2-in-1 device—which can be a laptop or tablet—based on the chip at the event in Taipei. The prototype, which is called Llama Mountain, will be among the thinnest hybrid devices shown by Intel, and will be based on a fifth-generation Core processor, sources familiar with the company’s plans said. No more details about the Broadwell chip, or the hybrid’s size or weight were shared.

You learn something new every day, and today I learned that the US Government has an actual standard of what counts as a high-speed Internet connection. But as the Right now, your connection needs to achieve a download speed of at least 4 megabits per second for the FCC to consider it a broadband connection. But the agency may change the definition so only connections with download speeds over 10mbps would count as broadband. It may even consider setting the proverbial bar as high as 25mbps.

The world of multiplayer online battle arena games is becoming increasingly crowded, but Blizzard Entertainment is bringing the star power of its beloved PC game series—like WarCraft, Diablo, and StarCraft—to the fight in hopes of creating another hit and claiming victory over the likes of Riot Games’ League of Legends, Turbine’s Infinite Crisis, and Valve's Dota 2. Blizzard Entertainment has seen its new MOBA game evolve over the past few years, at least in name.

Every year or two they release a new Spider-Man game. Every year or two I get my hopes up that the developers have made a proper follow-up to 2004's Spider-Man 2—the only fun Spider-Man game in recent memory. We're now a decade out from that, and Amazing Spider-Man 2 shares (mostly) the same title as that lone bright spot. Is this the Spider-Man game that will break the long streak of stinkers? Nope. In a way, it's unfair to developer Beenox to hold them to Spider-Man 2's standards. See, Spider-Man 2 wasn't even a very good game. It fell prey to a lot of the movie-game pitfalls—repetitive content, dumb missions, a horrible camera,

Your tablet isn’t just a way to be productive on the go, it’s also a portable portal for watching movies and other video entertainment. Upgrade the viewing experience for maximum satisfaction on any Intel-powered tablet with these seven tips. Many videos can be watched in a web browser or played directly from your hard drive, but having a good resource for fresh content can help make sure you don’t get stuck with the same old stuff. There are plenty of apps out there that cumulatively give you access to a massive video library right from your tablet. On Android devices, check out Netflix, Crackle, and Hubi. The Windows store also features Netflix and Crackle, plus reliable apps like Hulu Plus and Vevo. Your cable provider may have a proprietary app too, which may let you stream content or download it for offline viewing.

We’ve all been stopped dead by creative roadblocks at some point. We all love it when that lightning-bolt-burst of creative energy hits, but we know full well that it doesn’t come on-demand. Intel-powered tablets and 2 in 1s are wonderful productivity tools, but they can also be invaluable aids when you need a boost of creativity. When inspiration is frustratingly out of reach, try one or more of these tips or tricks to bring it back home. One of the most commonly prescribed techniques to help avoid creative blocks is to simply

The GPRS Roaming Exchange (GRX) network, which carries roaming traffic among hundreds of mobile operators worldwide, contains Internet-reachable hosts that run vulnerable and unnecessary services, recent security scans reveal. The scans were performed over a period of several months by Stephen Kho and Rob Kuiters, a penetration tester and an incident response handler from KPN, the largest telecommunications provider in the Netherlands. The two security experts were inspired to test how vulnerable the GRX network is, after news reports last year claimed that British intelligence agency GHCQ

Steve Ballmer may be in line to snap up the Los Angeles Clippers for a cool $2 billion. But he's not the only tech industry heavyweight with the bankroll and vision to make it big in basketball.

Sometimes producing a budget tablet can mean cutting corners. In the case of Lenovo’s A10—the latest entry to its large portfolio of tablet offerings—you’ll see some of those sacrifices, particularly with the device’s display. But the A10 makes up for those trade-offs in other areas. As far as specifications are concerned, the Lenovo A10 isn’t too shabby. Outside of the 10.1 inch (1280 x 800) display, the tablet ships with a 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek processor, 1GB RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, dual front-facing speakers with Dolby audio enhancements, Micro SD card slot, and large 6,340 mAh battery. Its display is one of its weak points, with an incredibly low 1280 x 800 resolution that lacks punch in the pixel department. A 720p HD video will play nicely, but text looks jagged an broken when you zoom out on text.

Open-source legend TrueCrypt may be gone, but the usefulness of full disk encryption carries on. So what's a crypto fan to do now for their encryption needs? Well, you
